SONGWRITING/ARRANGING

“Everybody Knows”

“Everybody Knows” is an upcoming single from Natalie’s debut songwriting EP, “The Freefall”. Natalie is the sole songwriter and will be the sole producer of the song and the upcoming EP. The song details meeting a familiar face at a New Years Eve party and the impulsive breaking of rules. “Everybody Knows” was performed by Natalie and recorded as part of an acoustic set supporting Jordyn' Richard’s “Ocean of You” EP release, and features the use of a loop pedal.

“My Hero”

Putting an fresh indie twist on a rock classic, Natalie arranged Foo Fighter’s “My Hero” for solo voice, SATB backing vocals and rhythm section (guitar, piano, bass and drums). It’s simplicity and musicality makes for a moving acoustic arrangement. Here’s a shortened version of the piece.

“STARS”

A short, glittery, synthesiser work produced as a concept for brand identity music.

“Denim”

“Denim” is a heartbreak pop ballad that has an abundance of haunting melodies and powerhouse vocals. Fully self-written, produced and performed, the track won first place in The Songdoor International Songwriting Competition’s Pop category (2023), with the lyrics and metaphors upon evaluation described as “sublime contemporary poetry”.

“Castles In The Sky”

An Indie pop track written for a family short film about two kids working together to achieve their dreams. The song was written under dialogue as well as over a montage to encapsulate the heartwarming scene. Here is a short snippet from the full song.

“Violets (It’s In My Bones)”

“Violets” was arranged for the Power Up Festival held at White Bay Power Station in 2024, as part of the project “Inner West Sounds” - a collaboration with The Sydney Youth Orchestra and students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Natalie co-arranged the song for the SYO Philharmonic with Harry Obrien. Inspired by Old Hollywood orchestrations, Natalie and Harry brought a heartwarming vibrancy to “Violets” that reflected Atticus Deering’s personal songwriting. Here’s a recording of the piece taken during the workshopping rehearsals, performed by Atticus Deering, Shalani and the SYO Philharmonic.
